You have two options to reach Pokhara—by road or by air—so you can choose the one that suits your travel style.
If you opt for a scenic 7-hour drive from Kathmandu, you'll enjoy winding mountain roads, terraced fields, and rivers that accompany you along the way.
Prefer a quicker route? A short flight offers a more direct path with breathtaking aerial views of the Himalayas.

As you approach Pokhara, excitement builds. Every corner of this city reveals something magical about Nepal—tranquil lakes, majestic peaks, and vibrant local life—making it a truly unforgettable destination.
After breakfast in Pokhara, we board a bus for a 3-hour journey to Nayapul, our trek starting point.
Tracing alongside the Modhi River toward Tikhedhunga, a checkpoint, we undergo permit checks.
The scenic trek includes lush paddy fields and waterfalls, with a challenging ascent of 3,200 steps to Ulleri, our overnight stop at 2,155 meters.
It our first taste of trekking amidst the majestic mountains.
Waking up to a stunning sunrise in Ulleri, we embark on a scenic trek through dense forests adorned with vibrant rhododendron flowers.
Arriving at Ghorepani, nestled amidst lush surroundings, we are greeted by the warmth of the Rai and Magar communities.
The village's beauty, especially during spring with blooming rhododendrons, attracts many trekkers seeking its picturesque charm and tranquility.
Ghorepani offers a memorable stop on our Himalayan trek, surrounded by nature’s serenity and local hospitality.
Today, we rise early at 5 AM for a one-hour hike to Poon Hill (3,210 M), famed for its stunning sunrise views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
After enjoying this breathtaking spectacle, we return for breakfast and continue trekking.
Passing through Deurali, we head towards Tadapani (2,655 M).
En route, we are treated to vibrant rhododendron flowers adorning the Annapurna landscape.
As we trek, we are captivated by up-close views of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre.
Tonight's stay in Tadapani offers immersion in local culture and hospitality, enriching our journey through this awe-inspiring region
After a breakfast with panoramic mountain views in Tadapani, we begin our trek downhill to the Gurung village of Ghandruk (1,940M).
Along the trail, we encounter donkeys and horses transporting goods.
As we descend, Ghandruk's charm unfolds, offering insights into Gurung traditions, culture, and language.
On arrival, we engage with the community, enjoying traditional performances and the opportunity to savor authentic Gurung cuisine.
It’s a delightful cultural immersion and culinary experience amidst the Himalayan foothills
Gathering for breakfast amidst the majestic peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, we reminisce about our time in the Gurung village.
With heartfelt goodbyes, we pack our bags and head towards Nayapul, marking the end of our Ghorepani Poon Hill trek.
From Nayapul, a one-hour drive takes us back to Pokhara.
In the city, we celebrate our trek & success with a lively party, cherishing the bonds forged and experiences shared.

Morning: Sunrise at Shrankot
Start your day early, around 5:00 AM, to catch the breathtaking sunrise from Shrankot, located on the outskirts of Pokhara. The view from here is truly magical, with the sun rising over the Annapurna range, casting golden hues over the surrounding mountains and valleys. After spending some time soaking in the beauty of nature, head back to your accommodation in Pokhara.
Breakfast and Preparation for Sightseeing
By around 8:00 AM, return to your hotel and enjoy a hearty breakfast. This will help fuel you for a day of exploration around the stunning city of Pokhara. After breakfast, freshen up, and get ready for a fun-filled day of sightseeing.
International Mountain Museum
Head to the International Mountain Museum, which offers a deep insight into the history of mountaineering, the region’s mountain culture, and the incredible stories of the famous mountaineers who have scaled peaks like Annapurna and Mount Everest. Spend about an hour exploring the exhibits before moving on to your next stop.
Gupteshwor Cave
Next, visit Gupteshwor Cave, a sacred and beautiful limestone cave located just a short distance from the city. Inside the cave, you’ll find the famous Gupteshwor Mahadev Temple and a beautiful waterfall that adds to the cave's mystical ambiance. It’s an exciting and peaceful stop that will give you a taste of Pokhara’s natural wonders.
Boating at Phewa Lake
After your cave exploration, rent a traditional boat and row across the serene waters of Phewa Lake, with stunning views of the surrounding hills and the iconic Tal Barahi Temple located on a small island in the middle of the lake. Take your time to enjoy the calm atmosphere before heading to your next destination.
Visit Peace Stupa
Located on a hilltop above Phewa Lake, the Peace Stupa can be reached either by hiking or by taking a short boat ride to the base of the hill, followed by a steep climb. The panoramic views of Pokhara, the lake, and the surrounding mountains are simply breathtaking. The stupa itself is a symbol of peace and a great spot for some quiet reflection.
Evening: Return to Hotel
By late afternoon, return to your hotel, Lakeview Pokhara, where you can relax and unwind after a day full of adventure and sightseeing. You’ll have time to freshen up before dinner, enjoying the tranquil surroundings of the hotel and reflecting on a day well-spent in one of Nepal’s most scenic locations.
